how much are you really worth??

(c)

imagine this: you are in front of the HR manager of the firm you are applying at, and at the very end of the job interview, the manager asked you “…and finally, how much are you expecting to receive??”

what do you do then?? do you:

1. tell them your salary is negotiable, and hope for the best??
2. tell them what you are really worth [in the industry you are in] and ask that you be provided for more??
3. just bow down your head and say that it is all up to them??

asking for the right salary is, more often than not, subjective… there is no industry standards, really… for if anyone follows what statisticians write about industry-based salaries, everyone is sure to be short-changed in the process… it involves the size of the company, ergo its capacity to pay… it involves the want of the company to pay your salary, meaning, if you come across as worth the amount you asked for… and finally, it involves the way you sell yourself to them…

so, for discussion’s sake, tell me: how much are you really worth?? and are you getting that amount?? if yes, then good for you… but if not, what are doing to get the best out of the situation??

Ciao, sweetie… 8)
